The Wayanad Art Cloud team had the privilege of hosting a talk with Charlie Fox, a conceptual artist from the UK. Conceptual art is an art movement where the idea or concept behind the work takes precedence over traditional aesthetics and material concerns. It emerged in the 1960s and 1970s as a reaction against the commercialization of art and the emphasis on skill or craftsmanship. Instead of focusing on the final object, conceptual artists often use text, installations, photography, performance, or ephemeral materials to express their ideas.
Charlie shared his experiences working on a project involving a polluted river. `Made in the river` was the name of the project. Get inspired by the infinity of the river Caravelle Ayagalades, they used art to aware the locales about the river pollution.
The discussion was attended by Sadanandan E.C., Joseph M. Varghese, Sudheesh Pallisery, Deepa K.P., Praseetha Biju, Sivaraj T., Denny John, Pranav C. Hari, and Dhanya Indu.
